Meet Our Pastor

Tommy Woodard has served at New Church since 2003.  As Lead Pastor, Tommy brings a unique blend of heart, humor, and hope.. His passion is to help people connect the truth of God’s Word to everyday life in a way that is both meaningful and memorable.

Beyond the pulpit, Tommy has written books, created films, and acted in faith-based projects—including the movies Family Camp and The Forge.

Tommy has been married to his wife, Angie, since 1991, and they have two adult children together. When he’s not pastoring or working on creative projects, you’ll probably find him mowing the lawn, sneaking in a round of golf, or laughing with friends over a cup of coffee.

At New Church, Tommy is dedicated to creating a community where people can laugh, grow, heal, and feel truly known—a church where faith meets real life. He’s glad you’re here, and he’s excited to see what God will do next.

In essential beliefs – we have unity.

“There is one Body and one Spirit… there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of us all…” Ephesians 4:4-6

In non-essential beliefs – we have liberty.

“Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters… Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls… So then each of us will give an account of himself to God… So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God.” Romans 14:1, 4, 12, 22

In all our beliefs – we show charity.

“…If I hold in my mind not only all human knowledge but also the very secrets of God, and if I have faith that can move mountains – but have no love, I amount to nothing at all.” 1 Corinthians 13:2
